Zygomatic Implants

When a full upper denture does not meet the patient’s needs or expectations, a dental implant based solution is often considered. Frequently over time, the posterior ridges of the upper jaw have become hollowed out by the maxillary sinuses. As a result, there may not be a sufficient volume of bone available for the insertion of an adequate number of those dental implants. Extensive bone grafting procedures before implant placement, might be possible. Another option involves the placement of: Zygomatic Implants. These longer implants are anchored in the base of the cheek bones, avoiding the complex bone grafting procedures. This option can dramatically reduce the overall treatment time.

While many patients and dentists may not be aware of this rehabilitation alternative, it is important to know that Zygomatic Implants have been used for over 2 decades. Studies have shown an average implant success rate of 96% after 12 years.
